Mariah Carey’s ‘Emotions’ Ride High at Star-Studded Person of the Year Event!!!
Grammys weekend kicked off by honoring the most iconic diva of them all – the one and only Mariah Carey! The legendary singer-songwriter commanded the spotlight at Friday’s MusiCares Person of the Year Gala in Los Angeles, dazzling in a sheer floral dress with a corseted bodice. She accessorized with a diamond collar necklace, stacked diamond bracelets, and cascading diamond earrings – though nothing could outshine her radiant smile.
A slew of stars turned out to celebrate Mariah’s big honor, including Kesha, Dove Cameron, and Charlie Puth, adding even more star power to the already glamorous evening. Inside the event, musicians performed to pay tribute to the “Obsessed” hitmaker, with Jennifer Hudson delivering an unforgettable rendition of Mariah’s iconic track “My All.”
Taylor Momsen and the Foo Fighters brought some alt-rock energy to the stage, a reminder of Mariah’s secret rock star phase with the band Chick in the ’90s. While the performances kept the energy high, the highlight of the night came when Mariah took the stage for her acceptance speech, calling the love and support “overwhelming.”
Though Mariah isn’t up for a Grammy this year, we’d say she’s already won the weekend!
